Beach at New Quay

Take a boat trip out into Ceredigion's Bay, looking out for dolphins, seals and other rare animals and birds that inhabit the Bay's sheltering waters. Ceredigion Heritage Coast Paths lead from New Quay to both the north and south with wonderful opportunities for walking.

Cenarth Falls near Quay West

Cenarth Falls – 19 miles

Believed to be one of the most breathtaking sights in Wales, Cenarth Falls is situated on the River Teifi and is about 30-40 minutes by car from New Quay. With its water falls and coracle centre to admire, you can spend a good afternoon here with peaceful walks along the riverbank and watch the trout and salmon swim in the crystal clear waters.

Aberaeron at Quay West

Aberaeron – 7 miles

Aberaeron is one of Wales' very first "planned" towns. Aberaeron's most notable feature is its architecture; one house in every four is listed as being of special architectural or historical interest. A thriving port in the days of commercial sailing, sailing still plays a major part in the life of the town, with its stonewalled harbour sheltering yachts. Aberaeron is also a popular shopping centre and offers a wide selection of crafts and local produce.

Devils Bridge

Devil’s Bridge – 36 miles

Devil's Bridge is situated high in the foothills of the Pumlumon mountain range, 12 miles east of Aberystwyth. Using the narrow gauge railway, you can climb to Devil's Bridge at a leisurely pace and enjoy the spectacular scenery of Cwm Rheidol on your way. Devil's Bridge's most famous feature is the unique arrangement of its three bridges, which are built one on top of the other.

Nineoaks Angling Centre

Trout & Coarse Fishing at Nineoaks Angling Centre - 6 miles

Nineoaks lies 1 1/2 miles inland off the main Coast Road in the little hamlet of Oakford, midway between New Quay and Aberaeron. It has 3 Coarse and 3 Trout Lakes, on-site Tackle shop, Cafe' and toilets and large central car park with the lakes right next to the car park. The fishery is set on the outskirts of Oakford in a quiet, naturally beautiful location.


The main Trout species are Rainbow and Blues mainly around 2lb but up to 7 lbs with a small head of Tiger Trout and some little brownies.
The Coarse lakes contain some excellent Roach fishing where they go up to 2lb, good Bream, lovely Tench, awesome Grass Carp up to 20lb, small chub and all species of Carp mainly around the 5lb mark but up to the mid-20s with plenty of doubles or near doubles.
